• JUNE 2012 UPDATES

Lots of activity this month.....I sent out 6 pieces from my "superimposed" series for a show in Frisco, TX. It's at the Frisco Merchantile, in the gallery run by Brenda Thomas. The show will be up through July. And one of my Chinese watercolors, "Green Bamboo," left my studio for its new home in North Carolina.....enjoy, Bill and Maggie!

The Second Friday Open Studios at the Fine Arts Building was a relaxed, successful night. Our floor was quieter than usual, but many people stopped by my space. We had lots of interesting conversation about the artwork, and I always get new insights and information on technique from those who visit.

  • FRIDAY, JUNE 8, 2012: OPEN STUDIO

I will once again open my studio to the public as part of the Fine Arts Building Studios monthly event. Come visit me in Studio 522 between 5 and 9 pm, and see who else is working here too!

  • A NIGHT AT THE FINE ARTS BUILDING

Annual celebration of the historic building and artists' community. Featuring exhibition of members' work in the 2nd Floor Gallery, including my latest work, "Dissected Bamboo, Turquoise/Multi."

  • THE FINE ART OF FRIENDS

    November 11, 2011 to December 5, 2011

A group show, in which 7 pairs of artists--one a FAB studios artist and one an artist friend--explore their artistic connections. I showed two paintings using Chinese calligraphy as a base: "Poem, Orange" and "Poem, Antique Green." These were hung alongside two "glyphs" encaustic works by Chicago-area artist Michele Thrane.
